Meet Ashlee
Meet Our Team - Ashlee Brown, BS, IBCLC Owner, Lactation Consultant

My name’s Ashlee, and I’m a mom of 3, a wife, and a board certified lactation consultant since 2019.

I was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky (down the road from Tyler Childers and Chris Stapleton). I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2013…two weeks after marrying my college sweetheart!

We moved to Ohio, then to Kansas, and had our first son. I became a childbirth educator shortly after his birth!

Two years after arriving in Kansas, and after becoming pregnant with our second son, my husband deployed to Afghanistan. Our second was born 11 days after his return, and we moved to Virginia 4 months later.

Virginia gave me the gift of a hospital lactation internship. As someone who isn’t a nurse, this opportunity was very hard to find. I am immensely grateful for it. After finishing my internship I was able to get a position as a lactation consultant in a pediatric office!

After 3 years in Virginia, we moved back home, where I began working for another lactation consultant and had our third baby, this time a girl!

Since passing my board exam, I have received specialized training in oral function (Oral Habilitation for the IBCLC Masterclass). I work closely with local preferred providers to create care plans for babies who have tongue ties before and after releases (if needed). I have also received additional training in breast pumps, low supply, bottle refusal, flange fittings, and more.

My mission is to help mothers create stronger bonds with their babies, and hold space for their transformation into stronger, more confident, calmer mothers.
